Olympus Tough TG-820

The latest addition to the Tough series, the Olympus Tough TG-820 and TG-620 are capable of enduring spills, shocks and extreme temperatures, similar to their predecessors. Both cameras will be rolled out in Japan before the end of the next month.

The durable TG-820 is crushproof, shockproof up to 2 meters and waterproof to a depth of about 10 meters, while the TG-620 is waterproof up to 5 meters and withstands shocks from a height of approximately 1.5 meters. Both devices should work in temperatures as low as -10°C. Powered by the TruePic V or VI image processor, they are deployed with the iHS technology for better image quality. These 12MP gadgets also employ dual IS to do away with the blurring effect due to camera shake.

Both Tough series snappers are embedded with a dedicated button for recording high definition 1920 x 1080p videos in the MOV/H.264 format and the AF Tracking feature helps capturing moving objects. Also, amateur photographers can use the in-camera magic filters and a horde of other modes like 3D photo shooting function and pet mode amongst others, to enhance pictures and videos.
