Panasonic Lumix FZ40 HD camcorder with 24X optical zoom

This month we reported about the Sony NEX-VG10 and the Canon Vixia HF M32 camcorders expected to be released in September. Now Panasonic has upgraded its Lumix series with the HD Lumix FZ40 camcorder. Featuring a 3” LCD display and 24X optical zoom, the device maybe considered ideal for capturing good quality images and HD videos.

The gadget comes with 14.1MP resolution and is equipped with a Leica Dc Vario-Elmarit lens offering an angle of up to 25mm. It integrates the Intelligent Resolution technology that enhances signal processing thus delivering improved images. The camcorder is attributed with Sonic Speed AF and high-speed start-up functionality as well.

Additionally, the FZ40 includes a jog dial to change settings and manual and creative controls for easy navigation. Users can also access My Color mode in both still and movie modes. The camera supports Pin Hole, Film Grain, High Dynamic and High Dynamic B and W too.

With the built-in iA mode, the device can select appropriate scene modes and save previously-registered faces. The device also comes with Power Optical Image Stabilizer along with MEGA O.I.S. Additionally, the gadget reduces the chances of blurred images. The camcorder shoots videos in AVCHD Lite format and lets users switch easily between camera and video mode.

The battery of the gadget is cited to last for about 580 shots per charge and Video Divide function separates video into two parts for deleting the unwanted part. Noise and disturbance from the background is also reduced through the Wind Cut function.

The black colored Panasonic Lumix FZ40 HD camcorder is expected to arrive in August. The device is priced at $399.95 (approx. Rs. 18.800).
