A dual camera is a perfect combination of some digital photographic equipment and a digital video camera. Photography buffs can now queue up to grab the enthralling VPC-PD2BK pocket-sized dual camera by Sanyo. It flaunts the capability to capture high-quality photos and videos from a single unit. It comes equipped with software for effortless use and sharing on social networks.

Weighing as little as 3.7oz, the enticing piece of gadget offers full high-definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) video recording, 10 megapixel photo shooting and 3x optical zoom, all bundled in a trendy yet slim design. Owners can now easily share their favorite images and videos on several social networking sites like YouTube, Facebook and Picasa. In addition, the VPC-PD2BK comes equipped with two microphones which record stereo sound clearly.

“The new PD2BK delivers amazing 10MP photos and 1080 archive quality video with 3x optical zoom,” commented Tom Van Voy, Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Solutions Division for SANYO North America. “Now users have both a convenient, ultra easy form factor and archive quality photos and videos that they will be proud to display on their HDTVs or share with friends and family from their computer.”

Flaunting its High Speed Sequential Shooting Mode, the device also has the ability to connect to PCs with the help of an integrated USB connector or a separate USB cable. Files can now be saved on SD, SDHC or ultra-high capacity SDXC (up to 64GB) memory cards. It also sports a mini-HDMI port and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

The camera is anticipated to be available in September for $169.99 (approx Rs. 7,918).
