Olympus PT-EP01 underwater case for PEN E-PL1

Olympus PT-EP01 Users can now capture those under water adventures with the newest offering from Olympus. The company will soon put on shelves its PT-EP01 Underwater case for the Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds System camera.

This waterproof housing ensures high-quality images and claims to be the first ever waterproof housing for a Micro Four Thirds System camera, light in weight and compact. Users can take it for a swim up to 40 meters deep and also reap the benefits of the Pen E-PL1’s Underwater Macro and Underwater Wide shooting modes.

For off-camera illumination, the optical connectors offer up to two UFL-2 Underwater Flash units. Measuring 179mm x 156mm x 166mm (W x H x D), the PT-EP01 Water Protector comes with a fixed lens port and can house the Olympus PEN E-PL1 camera fitted with an M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14–42mm f3.5–5.6L or M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9–18mm f4.0–5.6 lens.

Shots can be composed on the LCD monitor, offering comfort similar to a waterproof compact camera. With support for the Olympus Wireless Remote Control Flash System, PEN E-PL1’s integrated flash can be used as the command unit for advanced multi-flash setups. The PT-EP01 (for Olympus PEN E-PL1) Underwater case will be available for purchase on March 5 at a price of ¥71,000 (approx Rs. 35,977).
