Fujifilm adds FinePix F80EXR to F-series digital cameras

Here’s an offering for all the snap-happy people out there – Fujifilm has expanded their F-series of digital cameras with the FinePix F80EXR. The 12MP device features a Super CCD EXR sensor and allows for HD video recording at resolutions of 720p. It incorporates a number of technologies including face recognition, pet detection, automatic red-eye removal, tracking auto focus, dual image stabilization and Super Intelligent Flash.
The camera sports a 3” high-contrast 230K-pixel LCD that allows users to pitch it at various angles for shooting footage. It integrates Fujinon 10x wide-angle optical zoom lens that offers focal ranges of 27mm wide-angle to 270mm telephoto. Ghosting and flare are kept to a minimum with the lens’ Super EBC coating. The device hosts a mini HDMI port that enables users to view content shot through the camera on their home TV.
“The FinePix F80EXR has the same advanced Fujifilm EXR technology and 10x long-zoom that made the F70EXR so successful and takes it to the next level with even more features, such as HD Movie Capture and Face Recognition, for users to achieve outstanding results in virtually any lighting condition,” proclaimed David Troy, marketing manager of Consumer Digital Cameras, Electronic Imaging Division, Fujifilm North America Corporation.
For pet lovers, the F80EXR’s pet detection ability allows it to recognize up to ten faces of various breeds of dogs or cats. It combines Picture Stabilization and CCD Sensor Shift Stabilization to scale down on blurring. The camera’s Super Intelligent Flash system tweaks the level of flash for a given frame to deliver balanced flash illumination across the foreground and background. It can produce goods quality shots in low light and superb highlight detail in contrast light when switched to SN mode and DR modes respectively.
Fujifilm’s FinePix F80EXR will hit shelves this April at $299.95 (approx. Rs.13,847.).
