Nikon intros D90 Dgital SLR Camera that sports Movie Capturing Funtion

Nikon today announced the launch of its new DX-format digital SLR, the D90.

The D90 camera not only offers outstanding image quality but also includes movie capturing ability.

Sporting a 12.3 megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor, the camera can record up to 20-minute bursts of 24fps video footage at 720p HD support on the movie mode. For optimum image quality, the EXPEED image processing system is also added into the D90.

The unique D-Movie function offers Motion JPEG movies in exceptional D-SLR image quality.

In addition, the Nikon D90 digital SLR camera includes a “Live View” option to shift 3-inch LCD screen into a viewfinder, a standard feature on most point and shoots. It also features dynamic integrated dust reduction system, ace detection, scene recognition, and automatic white balance. The USB and HDMI connectivity are also available. A fish-eye and horizon straightening are some of the special effects added into the camera.

It also possesses Active D-Lighting to retain highlights and shadows of images, advanced autofocus performance, 11-point AF system with 3D tracking support, and enhanced scene modes, along with bright pentaprism viewfinder, an extensive retouch menu that creates a duplicate image, and playback function to watch 72 thumbnails on slideshows and other basic functionalities.

Nikon also bundles Wide-angle Zoom Kit, Telephoto Zoom Kit with the D90 DSLR camera.

The first-of-its-kind Nikon D90 digital SLR camera is slated to reach the UK market by late September for a suggested price of £699.99 (approx. Rs. 56,480). If consumers are interested to buy the kit version with a new 18-105mm lens, they need to shell out £849.99 (approx. Rs. 68,590).
