160 MP Camera Unveiled by Seitz

Seitz 160 MP camera Digital manufacturers try hard to make their digi cameras as compact and portable as possible. But a truly huge digital camera has now been developed that gives an unbelievable high resolution. And to transfer the images to PC, you need a fairly hefty system config.

Seitz Phototechnik has designed a whooping 160 mega-pixels 6×17 camera. If you do not believe me, please do pinch yourself as it is the truth. No kidding! The images that offer 48-bit uncompressed TIFF format come out at a rather hefty 900MB with a resolution of 7,500×21,250 for each photo. No, I have not added the resolutions of all the images – it’s just a single picture resolution. It has the ability to provide a resolution that is 77 times higher than traditional 1080p HD video.

This uniquely designed camera also has a pair of chromed hand grips on both sides of the body. Now, it a must for photographers to use this grip while clicking photos or capturing videos as the camera weighs 4.5 kgs and comes in an extra-ordinary 45cm width.

The 160 mega-pixels camera also works like a scanner. It has the fastest scanning backs around with its capturing capability of around a full-resolution 6×17 image in a single second.

Sadly, this camera does not support any memory cards. It bundles a gigabit Ethernet port to transfer the photos to a computer. Users can operate remotely with a PDA.

The giant model of the Seitz camera retails for a mind-boggling $44,414 (approx. Rs.1,761,178).It is offered with a tablet PC, that is sold separately.
