Diamond Robbery Case in Mumbai Solved through CCTV
Recently we had reported about the poor performance of CCTVs in UK. Interestingly these CCTV have now played an important role in catching a diamond thief in Mumbai, India.
The thief named Santosh Gaikwad was captured on CCTV camera, while taking diamonds worth Rs. 10 crore at the Arshit Gems store in Mumbai last Tuesday.
Reports say that he was captured on the camera on October 16, looking around the corridors of the shop, to see if he is being watched by anybody and was on the way towards the shop.
Also, he was seen coming down from the jewelers after robbery, with a bag in hand and another slung across his shoulder. This was the footage, which unfold the mystery of the robbery.
Four other people with Santosh Gaikwad have been arrested by Mumbai Police. This episode assured one thing that the installation of CCTV is not always a waste of money.
