Is Olympus Launching E-P1, a New Camera?

Olympus E-P1 DSLR There is news on the web that Olympus is all set to release its new DSLR camera called E-P1. The new camera seems to be an upgraded version of its previous camera, E-1.

According to the news, the forthcoming camera – the E-P1 has a 10-megapixel sensor and live preview with a swiveling LCD screen. Other features include weatherproofing, technology for dust-reduction on the image sensor, and an image sensor stabilization to help with camera shake that allows users to use shutter speeds five stops slower than before.

The new camera may also include eleven-point auto-focus and a weather-sealed extra battery. Besides, the E-P1 professional camera will also features wireless flash control, a larger viewfinder and improved low light performance.

The E-P1 may arrive in October 2007. It would be great to have such a camera in the market but the news is not confirmed till now, as Olympus refused to comment on the entire issue.
