Acer unveils new Veriton M490G and X490G Desktops at CeBIT

Acer logoThe CeBIT expo that was recently held in Hanover saw a plethora of products being unveiled by various noteworthy companies. Among the array was Acer with its share of desktops, notebooks and other products. The company now reveals two new professional desktops dubbed as the Acer Veriton M490G and X490G series.

The M490G offering is noted to be a micro-tower which provides users with long term computing reliability, expandability and solidity while the X490G can be espied bearing a space saving appearance which is apt for daily office needs. The latest Veriton desktops house the Intel Core i7, i5 or i3 as well as the Intel H57 Express Chipset. The devices are packed with up to 16GB of DDR3 memory, PCI-Express 2.0 and a serial ATA HD with up to 1TB capacity. The M490G has the ability to support RAID 0, 1, 5, 10. The new Acer desktops include integrated HD audio with 5.1-channel surround sound support and a DVI-D port.

The internal mechanics of the new products are fully re-designed while the modular structure lets users exchange components more easily. While offering a great computing experience, the desktops also sport eco-friendly components. They are fashioned out of PVC-free materials as well as low-power components which utilize the latest power saving technologies.

They also successfully meet the requirements of Energy Star, RoHS, EPEAT and Green Seal. The M490G and X490G already come loaded with many smart utilities like Veriton ControlCenter, Acer Security Suite, and Acer Client Manager. The Veriton ControlCenter includes Acer QuickMigration, PowerSaver, SmartBoot, eSettings Mangement, eLock Management and Veriton HelpDesk. Veriton PCs also sports a one-button recovery solution and are offered with Windows 7 OS.

No word yet on the pricing and availability of the new Veriton M490G and X490G desktops from Acer.
