Everex gPC Mini, a gOS-based Computer Unveiled
Everex has launched its new miniature computer, dubbed the gPC mini. As the name suggests, the small PC runs on gOS operating system, an enhanced version of Ubuntu Linux.
Powered by 1.86GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2130, the tiny device features 512MB RAM, 120GB HDD, DVD burner, 10/100/1000 Ethernet Port, DVI-I Port, S-Video Port, 4 USB ports, and 4-in1 Media Card Reader. Headphone/Line-Out Port and Microphone/Line-In Port are also included. Sadly, the gPC does away without few specifications such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and webcam.
Besides, it comes pre-installed with Web essential applications such as Google, Firefox, Skype, and Xing Movie Player. The space-saving computer has other in-built applications such as GIMP and OpenOffice stand in for paid packages that include Photoshop and Microsoft Office, respectively. Users can urf, email, blog and IM.
The dimensions of the gPC mini are 1.65×8.90×6.77 inches that makes it easy to carry. Consumers also have access to integrated software’s that includes gmail, Wikipedia, Blogger, YouTube, RythemBox, Faqly and Facebook.
Everex’s gPC mini costs $499 (approx. Rs. 20,000) and comes with 1 year limited warranty. It is slated to be available on NewEgg on 1st March.

It is really sad that this machine does not include wifi nor bluetooth at least. These are really essentials nowadays. What about the video chip and its characteristics? Additonally I think they should allow for the customers to have acces to different configurations so everyone might be allowed to get its own customized unit according to his/her wishes. Anyhow, it is a good attempt, my best wishes to this machine and congratuialtions to those who keep pushing forward Linux distros. All the best.

Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth can be added thru the USB port, right?
