CherryPal launches its new energy efficient and affordable desktop computer. The CherryPal desktop has no moving parts and 80 percent fewer components compared to other PCs. This energy efficient PC uses just two watts of power.
“Today’s typical PC is based on a computing model created 25 years ago, before the Internet, web browsers and global warming,” said CherryPal CEO, Max Seybold. “We have developed a new computing model that makes CherryPal the easiest to use, greenest, most affordable computer available today.”
The CherryPal desktop features a patent and highly secure environment on the web called CherryPalCloud which is automatically accessed at boot up. Majority of the information is processed and stored in CherryPalCloud, eliminating application downloads, software upgrades and crashing operating systems. Everything is maintained by CherryPal administrators in the CherryPalCloud. CherryPal has a combination of hardware and software encryption and also provides a patent single software layer technology.
By consuming just two watts of power unlike 65 watts utilized by other PCs, the CherryPal desktop decreases energy consumption by 97 percent. It has a simple and intuitive interface. All the applications and functions are managed by Firefox based browser. With minimum parts, CherryPal offers minimum maintenance and a free 24/7 helpline.
The CherryPal features Freescale MPC5121e mobileGT processor, 4GB NAND Flash-based solid state drive, 256MB of DDR2 DRAM, Two USB 2.0 ports, WiFi 802.11b/g, headphone stereo audio out 3.5mm jack, 9vDC 2.5mm10 watt AC-DC adapter power supply, a VGA DB-15 display out jack and a 10/100 Ethernet with RJ-45 jack.
It weighs10.5 ounces and packs in some more features like CherryPal-branded instant messenger, iTunes, OpenOffice.org office productivity suite, OS based on version of open source Debian/GNU Linux, CherryPal-brand media player and 50 GB of storage capacity.
