Wipro Protos, the New Range of Energy Conservation PCs, launched in India

Yesterday, Wipro Infotech launched its new range of desktops in the country called Wipro Protos. The latest desktops consume 25% lesser energy than the conventional desktops.

Wipro is the first player in the industry to launch India OEM to market. This product is based on AMD’s.

The new range of the Protos devices supports the 50X15 initiative, which helps to enable affordable Internet access as well as low-power computing capability.

At the launch of Protos, Ashutosh Vaidya, vice president, Wipro Personal Computing, said, “Wipro has always been a pioneer in introducing specific products to the market that provide the right value proposition to businesses. Protos is another revolutionary product from the stable of Wipro Personal Computing which will cater to specific needs like low-power consumption and a small footprint. Protos is dust resistant, maintenance free and network ready. It can easily be configured with application software tailored to the needs of specific customers.”

The unique features of this product such as ultra portability, reliability and low-power consumption make it an ideal solution for rural and educational applications.”
